Kate is a curator and producer based in Melbourne.

Kate is currently Associate Director of the Asia Pacific Triennial of Performing Arts (Asia TOPA) and Creative Director of boutique cultural agency Turning World. 

A degree in Classical Saxophone led Kate to a career in the arts, where she has worked for over thirteen years as a producer, programmer and cross-cultural innovator. Alongside her work with numerous Australian festivals and venues, Kate has worked actively in the Asia-Pacific region and has produced major projects in India, China, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and the UK.

Kate has been awarded a Sidney Myer Creative Fellowship for 2014 & 2015 reflecting her work as a thought leader and creative producer. In 2014 she was also engaged as a Creative Associate to the Asian Performing Arts Program at Arts Centre Melbourne.

Kate was based in India for 20 months as Co-Creative Director and Producer of Oz Fest 2012, the largest cultural diplomacy initiative ever staged in India by the Australian government. She lived for a year in Jogjakarta on an Asialink Arts Management Residency in 2009 and speaks Bahasa Indonesia. She was Executive Producer of the Oceania Stage for the BT River of Music, a 2012 London Olympics Cultural Olympiad project produced by Serious UK and Associate Producer of Australia's cultural showcase in Shanghai, Celebrate Australia 2002.

Kate has held producing roles with Melbourne International Arts Festival 2011 (Special Projects- Associate Producer), Arts House (Associate Producer 2005-2009), Melbourne International Jazz Festival 2005 (General Manager), Adelaide Festival 2004 (Program Coordinator Music) and London International Jazz Festival 1999,2000 (Event Manager).

She has produced numerous large-scale music productions for major festivals that have received Helpmann and Deadly Awards.

Kate has an on-going commitment to working with contemporary Indigenous artists and was producer of The Black Arm Band (2006-2009) and Executive Producer 2013 Mbantua Festival in Alice Springs.

Kate completed the Asialink Leaders Program in 2010. She holds postgraduate qualifications in International Relations alongside her Bachelor of Music and speaks Bahasa Indonesia. She was a Board Member of the Australian Art Orchestra and is an Australia Council Peer. Kate is regularly asked to present lectures, talks and workshops on cultural diplomacy, arts management and Asian engagement.
