Kate is regularly called upon to contribute her ideas to public discourse and policy discussions.

Her particular areas of interest are cultural diplomacy, Asian engagement, soft power and cultural engagement with specialist markets (Indonesia, India).

Recent engagements include panellist presentations at the Griffith University ‘Soft Power in the Indo Pacific Roundtable, OzAsia Festival Forum ‘Australia-Indonesia Diplomacy via Arts & Culture’ and the Wheeler Centre Discussion ‘Soft Power in the Asia Pacific’ (Kate also curated the Wheeler Centre event).
